About Us

abigaeil Lebrun

HI! My name is Abaigael Lebrun, and I’m a junior in the Degree Design Lab program at Champlain College. Through the program, I am studying Broadcast Media Production and Law. In my free time, I love to bake and crochet. I took the Women’s Leadership course because I believe that women need more seats at the table, and this is my way of making that happen!

Claire Hosey

My name is Claire Hosey (she/her). I’m a second year law major here at Champlain, and I plan on going back home to Connecticut for law school after I graduate. I’m taking this class because I tend to find myself wanting to take on leadership roles but not feeling fully comfortable doing so. This is especially important to me because I believe that improving my leadership skills will help me succeed in my future career and in my personal life.

Caitlin Brower

I am a “non-traditional” student who has come back to college after a 25 year hiatus. During that time, I focused on making a family and memories, and gaining a deeper understanding of what I want to do with my career. It wasn’t until George Floyd was murdered that I suddenly knew how I wanted to put my empathy and anti-racisism to work: by becoming a social worker and fighting to change a broken system within education and our criminal justice system. I am now in my third year, and excited to show my son that I am doing the work to change the system to make it a better place for him and his peers.

Meagan Schmid

Hello! My name is Meagan Schmid. I am a senior and my major is Environmental Studies and Policy. Women in all fields of study are often overlooked and this class, Seminar in Women’s Leadership, is a step in the right direction to encouraging confidence in all women.

Jennifer Davis

Jennifer is a student at Champlain College to complete her undergraduate degree after dropping out of college 25 years ago. She is a project manager who is guided by compassionate principles and whose first priority is her teams wellbeing, autonomy, and flourishing. In her spare time, she enjoys historical cooking and brewing, beekeeping, martial arts, and reading history from every place and every time. She is a triple earth sign with a myriad of interests and hobbies, and a bi/pan punk who came out in the 90’s when being gay/genderfluid was not normalized. She continues to be dedicated to study, make mistakes, and do better in her practices, learning, and activism.

Molly Shapiro

I’m a first year Computer Networking and Cybersecurity major at Champlain College. I’m the president of the Women in Cybersecurity chapter and a member of the student government House of Representatives. I wanted to be prepared to step into these leadership roles with confidence and the knowledge I needed to do well, and the Women’s Leadership Seminar is the perfect way to do that.
